WolvesNight – V.3: Rise of the Apostles.
I could see her gentle smile as she looked up at me, those glowing white eyes filled with innocence. She looked at us with a hint of longing behind her eyes, a longing that Amon Iah and I, Raziya Shemei, could never understand. So much was to be expected of this child at such a young age; we all looked to her for a hope that our world would once again be saved and she was the very savior that our kind needed. For years were were haunted with the smell of the rotting dead as they rose from their graves, warriors of a time many of us had forgotten, and they killed the living to harness their powers for their own selfish gains. We believed that they would come for her while she was locked away in the shell we called the Stone of Akana but she was the one that had summoned them, as to why? Even the Guardian's, supposed Gods in this forsaken mortal realm, could not give the answers to the pleading eyes of our subordinates.
Blood stained these lands, more so after Akana had been unleashed from her prison and had become more powerful than we could ever imagine but we still believed that she was our ray of light shining through this abyss of darkness. Even with children of my own my brother and I still raised her to the best of our abilities but we could only do so much to protect her.
With every rise of power and a villain as powerful as the Demon's, war was inevitable and we were tossed into the battlefield with white flags and doves of peace as we tried to bring the Shadow Stalkers and the Deviled Dwellers to reach a mutual agreement and stop this petty war. At first it seemed like a hopeless quest since Lucifer and Dreamer were not willing to come to a compromise with Lucius Vorenus and Luna due to issues in the past between the two packs. As Amon and I tried to get the packs at peace something more devious was beginning to unfold right behind our backs, an evil that we were blind to.
Damian and Qur'an, the devious masterminds that they were, began to speak to Akana and twist her mind into morbid thinking. They told her of a plan, a plan to be rid of all the weak wolves so she could thrive on the living. Being so young and having all of this pressure on her she began to listen to what the two began to tell her. They wanted the world for themselves and though Akana thought that she would no longer be needed they twisted it to where she would be the most important figure in their plan. She would become the Goddess of their new world but even Damian and Qur'an had the gall to lie to a powerful being such as our Akana. All that was needed was for her to get rid of the demons and they could put their plan into motion. Since she was the one to summon them in the first place she thought it would be as easy as snapping her fingers or blinking her eyes but even she could not undo the wrong she had caused. The only way to eliminate the demons was to destroy them. Only she seemed to know where they were and went to speak with them, telling them that the weakest pack, Skiazo, had planned to attack them and if they wanted to survive they needed to attack first. The war between the living and dead would begin.
Like wraiths in the night they destroyed Skiazo leaving only one survivor, Gloria, their leader. She warned the Deviled Dwellers who in turn went to warn the Shadow Stalkers and ask for their assistance; they were hesitant to do this but that will to survive was much to strong for pride to override. Lucifer sent his strongest to stand ground at the Deviled Dwellers but still wolves fell, even as Amon and I helped but our efforts were not in vain. The demons were destroyed successfully – there were no survivors.
Two years had passed since that battle and now the supplies that kept the wolves in the desert lands of Del-Rey began to diminish into nothing. Some refused to leave their homeland while others went searching and during their travels came to the lands of Paranor and Arborlon – a green wonderland and a wintry hell. As we traveled with Akana she soon left us in Arborlon to seek out Damian and Qur'an. A castle stood high upon the horizon, one of the last human artifacts to still remain in this world. She protected it as Damian and Qur'an began to gather their forces; we could not find it due to the barrier she had put up around the looming towers. They were called Apostolus of Novus Universitas – Apostles of the new world. One goal was in mind and that was to destroy the current packs so they could rule the world simply because tradition was wearing thin and they believed it was time for a change. No longer should wolves have to live where they are currently judged based on ranks; ranks would not be needed in this new world.
When the numbers, what the Apostles began to call themselves, began to grow Damian spoke to Akana, telling her to hide in the heavens until she was needed but what he didn't know was she was up to a scheme all her own. Summoning forth Jackals with mysterious powers, she has taken things into her own hands. A new war has begun and we are not sure if even we, the Guardian's, can fight against the very thing we were created to protect; could we kill Akana if we needed to? Will Damian and Qur'an soon become the new dictators of the world or will tradition live strong?
